Our Story

The Beginning

What started as Cow Girl Summer in 2022, evolved into Cow Girl Ski the subsequent winter when Hanna and Filippa (the original Cow Girls) embarked on a ski trip to Chamonix over Easter.

Hanna, clad in a vintage ski suit gifted by her mother for Christmas two years prior and Filippa in her clothes from her ski season in Whistler 4 years prior. The trip coincided with Blackcrows’ Unlimited Festival. It was a Friday, the wind was strong, visibility bad, snow conditions were “dust on crust” but Hanna and Filippa took the chance (knowing that the long nights later during the weekend would likely prohibit them from such an early start). Up to Planpraz they went to demo crows skis and ride with the Crow crew in the Ski Sauvage. 

There they were, two Swedish girls, in their busted and dusted ski ensembles ready to shred the gnar with a group of 15 strangers. The girls expected some to be semi-pro, they did not expect to be the only two women in a sea of only professional skiers: skeptical of the girls ski ability upon spotting the bright red vintage ski suit, the crew approached the Cow Girls with caution. A few runs later the skepticism subsided. Later, one of the skiers who turned out to be a founder of Blackcrows in a french accent unlike any other said to Hanna “it’s a nice ski suit” to which Filippa replies “you should make them” to which he replies (without hesitation) “no! It’s not our brand.” And so, with a cheeky look in her eyes Filippa turns to Hanna and says “well, then it’s ours.”

The Ethos

Cow Girl Ski is a brand for women who are flirty, fearless and fun. Who love the sport and want to ski without compromising on the femininity of what they wear. No, we are not the first ski suit on the market, there is plenty to choose from. BUT we are the ski suit for women who are equally passionate about the ski lifestyle as they are about the sport. Whether you draw lines in the backcountry powder, carve on the piste, prioritise the long lunches, are a fairweather skier, were invited on a ski trip with friends and took your first turns and realised a love for the sport and the lifestyle: Cow Girl Ski is for you. 

The Product

Our suits are designed with fit, form, fashion and function in mind. The Rockies ski suit is made of custom fabric, engineered in Korea with a double weave construction to be both water-resistant and breathable - so you stay dry and comfortable on and off the snow. Every suit is also fitted with a Recco reflector. Our fabric is OEKO-TEX certified, guaranteeing it is free from harmful substances and safe against your skin, is made of recycled materials in accordance with the Global Recycled Standard and is assessed under the Higg Index (safe and sustainable supply chain). A ski suit built to perform without sacrificing on style OR sustainability. In two colours (for now) the Fiery Red and the Alpine Green. What else might you want to know? It’s manufactured in a factory in Poland that’s Swedish owned (because Scandinavian style and quality is, to us, the most trusted). 

The Timeline

Where is Cow Girl Ski today? Well…after a year of concept building (2023), we met our factory and started sampling (if you aren’t in the fashion industry…this is a process that takes time and several iterations, especially when you are endeavouring to develop the perfect ski suit) (2024). The following-year, we placed our fabric order, we took our final samples to be field tested in Chile, we had our Launch Party at Alpingaraget in Stockholm and we were ready for the delivery of the ski suits before Christmas and the first Cow Girls would receive their suits under the tree on the 24th (or the 25th) of December. Alas, the universe had other plans. After a fire in the dying mill in Korea the delivery was delayed…by 8 weeks. SO we pivoted and 2026 marked our pre-launch launch ski season: spent in Chamonix and New York, our team of Cow Girls repped the suits and the first sales were made. Now, we are ready for the rest of the year to continue to share our story and bring you the best ski suits on the market.
